Doctor Who to land States-side
5 12 2007DOCTOR WHO is the latest coup for IDW Publishing adding brand-new comic stories written exclusively for the American market to it’s strong franchises which include Star Trek and Transformers.
January will see the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) materialising on American shores for his first-ever US miniseries penned by new series story editor Gary Russell.
“These are the first Doctor Who comics in the United States in three decades, and the first ever created just for the American market.”
Each issue will be a stand-alone story but with links that carry over throughout the comic series. The Doctor will be joined by companion Martha Jones as he fights evil from spreading throughout the cosmos. Unknown to them however forces have set their sights on the good Doctor; with the last Time Lord a valuable collectible to the right people.
Accompanying Russell on the creative team is artist Nick Roche of Transformers fame, Josep Maria Beroy, Stefano Martino and more - with Roche supplying covers for each issue.
